My Mother in Law died a few weeks ago, it was her funeral today. When her home was cleared my wife found my Mother in Laws second husbands Parachute Regiment wings, the wife's sister was going to throw them in the bin but wifey stopped her and said "I'll give them to my old man, he'll know what to do with them". I didn't know what to do with them so I propped them up on the dashboard of my car. My Mother in Law's second husband was Polish, can you guess where this is going? He died sixteen years ago and was an Arnhem veteran from the Polish Brigade, no fucking way were his wings going in the bin even though I didn't know what to do with them, we'd tried to contact the old guy's daughter from a previous marriage but could never get a response, she lived a good distance away up North.
Today was my Mother in Law's funeral and his daughter was there so I gave her his wings, she burst into tears and gave me a hug, it seems to me that I was meant to be given those wings to pass on to his daughter even though I never expected to see his daughter again as I've not seen her for years, if I had just chucked them in a drawer at home I wouldn't have given them a second thought but for some reason I kept them in the car from the moment my wife gave them to me. They are now where they belong which made me feel really good inside.

A bunch of dead potted plants (about 50 of them, various tree and shrub saplings) which I was trying to save from 3 years of neglect, moss and overgrowth (brambles, stingers and ivy mostly) are looking pretty damn awesome now, owner collared me earlier (I thought I'd cut another of the wrong things down) turns out he wanted to show me what I'd done (I do the jobs then move on to another job and never check back really).. and yeah, they're all doing great..
Might end up getting left this place you know :)

Daughters birthday today I gave her tickets to Alladin the musical. The expression on her face made my day. But when she said my friends are gonna be so jealous that made me laugh
Well.....are you all jealous? You could use a magic carpet ride:StayPuft:
