I made it with ground venison (bambi to be specific),peas & onions from a friend, carrots from mom, the rest from the grocery store. Turned out nicely.

In the filling pan? Nope. The potatoish looking items are mushrooms. I know not traditional to shepherd's pie but they add a hit of umami and soften the gameyness of the deer.

Turkey ,candied yams ,green bean casserole, corn , gravy ,rolls ,cranberry sauce. And chocolate pie and turtle pie for dessert. Gonna be a big fat stuffed pig tomorrow 😁😁

No Thanksgiving dinner here, but I was out to the Italian this evening to eat a pizza 'frutti di mare' ; long ago I had a pizza the last time. It was good + a glass of vino tinto.
