Nexstar Media Group, which owns hundreds of television stations, announced earlier it would preempt Kimmel's show on its ABC affiliates starting Wednesday night "for the foreseeable future" and would replace it with other programming over his comments about alleged Charlie Kirk assassin Tyler Robinson.

"Mr. Kimmel’s comments about the death of Mr. Kirk are offensive and insensitive at a critical time in our national political discourse, and we do not believe they reflect the spectrum of opinions, views or values of the local communities in which we are located," Nexstar's broadcasting chief, Andrew Alford, said in a press release.

Yes. The right is censoring the left. The left celebrated Charlie Kirk's dearh for his free speech and called for more death and killing. So now the right is censoring the left. It is happening and I no longer care. I was a NYC Democrat once, Charlie Kirk was an innocent man, and you people celebrated his death, I will never be a Democrat again - the party has become evil. The censoring it will recieve was self inflicted, and ironically in large part by policies it created itself. My friends are of all races and creeds and sexual orientations, and they agree with ending this disgusting leftist nonsense, no more celebrating death.

These people are not being cancelled because of simple disagreement of opinion .. they are being cancelled because they are morally corrupt and overtly stoking division and hatred - they are using their positions to create chaos and disunity and fueling unrest. They are actively and knowingly inciting violence. SECONDLY it isn't government or 'Trump' doing the cancelling you MORON, it's private entities .. I am not against people celebrating Charlie Kirk's death even though I respect Charlie Kirk. It's a natural human thing to celebrate the death of one's enemies. I do it on here all the time. I don't get this pearl-clutching aghastness at how horrible those on the left are. Of course they're horrible and nothing's going to change that, certainly not censoring them.
The only resolution to this bitter divide between left and right is civil war and a whole lot of destruction. Don't see how we avoid that at this point, at least here in the US.

Yes, I am highly confident (99% certainty) that a second US civil war will not happen any time soon, certainly not in this generation. The primary agitators of the left celebrated the death of one man, and in so doing their entire cause imploded, dragging members of their own side away from them. The most radical among them are being fired to no protest from the majority of their own side let alone from their detractors. The rightfully angered conservativess are not calling for violence, they have a assassin in a jail cell and are abiding by the rule of law in his prosecution. This is the opposite of the anarchy that often precedes societal collapse and war. If anything this is a period of greater unity. It's also coincidental that this uniting force coincided with the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, the one event that resulted in the greatest coming together of Americans of all social and political affiliation, and I feel we are seeing that play out now. There are no riots outside the offices of ABC calling for Jimmy Kimmel to be reinstated in his job, there are no bricks being thrown or statues toppled. All I see is the majority of people with common sense from both sides saying the death of Charlie Kirk is not something to celebrate and when those who say the opposite are fired, nobody cares.
