Thanks to the Tea Party, today's vote to extend the Patriot Act failed to pass. It had been introduced on the suspension calendar and needed 2/3rds to pass. When the Tea Party bloc broke with Republicans, there weren't sufficient votes to pass it.

the patriot act made it easier for the gov't to gather info on US, not the terrorists. it was just a few steps away from martial law. it'd be good for americans to listen to ron paul. he's anti everything-that's-wrong-with-america.

What makes him look like an asshole other than being a Republican?The rest of his points are clearly valid.

For instance, he grabs up clips from various news stories then presents them edited and out of context. If you had seen the full clip, you would see how far out of context his presentations are. That makes him a liar; therefore, an asshole. Would have sworn he was a dem.
