According to US census figures, Afro Americans make up 12% of US population so you'd expect 12% of actors, news people, people in adverts etc to be black.

A bit off topic but they upped the figures in the 2022 census. Now blacks comprise 14% of US residents. They also said 32% of jail and prison inmates are black.

The same census shows whites comprise 61% of the US population and 31% of the US jail/prison population.

So, in the US blacks are charged, convicted and imprisoned for all crimes in the US at a rate that’s over 4 times more than whites.

The 4:1 ratio is basically the same for violent crimes.

So how is avoiding interaction, raising your guard or not associating with a group of people that are proven to be 4 times more likely to break the law “racist” or “hateful”? It’s neither, it’s a safety measure based on facts.

Prejudiced? Yes. But our pre-judgement is based on their propensity to break laws and our desire not to be victimized.

Today a person avoiding this proven danger and verbally reminding others of the increased threat blacks pose to others can be punished for being racist or hateful.

How is that ok?
