We have them all, moles, voles, mice, beavers, groundhogs, foxes, rabbits, squirrels, deer, black bears, hawks, owls, crows, bees, wasps, cicada killers, humming birds, mocking birds, cardinals, blue jays, wrens, tits, blue-tailed skinks and skunks, among others, and that's just in my neighborhood. Spread spent coffee grounds work fairly well on most all of the rodents whenever we see their subterranean trails. It keeps them out of the flower beds at least. Growing any type of food here other than herbs for cooking is difficult at best. We have chives, scallions, spearmint, basil, lemongrass, oregano, parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme. And no, we don't live in Scarborough.
