In Mozambique, Islamic State militants have taken over an island in the Indian Ocean. The attack took place on the night of March 16-17 in the province of Cabo Delgado. A group of about twenty jihadists, dressed in the uniform of the Mozambican Armed Forces, reportedly landed on the coast of the island of Matemo and fired at the security forces. According to ISIS, seven soldiers were killed by the group's militants. The media claim that there were no regular troops on the island, and the militants rampaging there burned houses and took dozens of civilians hostage.
