That's what I should have done. I was naïve, and I thought that making him return stolen items to store managers and apologize would be enough to turn him around. I should have beat his ass.

My first/last/only foray into criminality failed spectacularly and Dad had to come get me and my younger brother from detention....for a WEEK, he'd think about it, get mad, and I had to get it again...after all that, Dad said i was too big now to discipline like that. I was smiling, until he explained further, "in the adult world, you have to deal with this!" (giant balled fist)
Same here, did me no harm.....certainly taught me a lesson.
