I'm not sure if post 9/11 the tour still includes the generator room, if it does I highly recommend. I absolutely marvel at what was achieved with projects like this. Slide rule engineering and brute force labor accomplished some amazing things.

I have a lot of respect for firefighters, they deserve whatever hero pussy they can score.

Those generators are putting out 130MW each, lots of trust that the operators have isolated everything before you start spraying highly conductive water on the fire.

I drove over the Hoover Dam decades ago, long before the nearby bridge was built.
Then took the tour down below haha. Fun experience.
The water was spilling over the overflow pipes. Heard it hasn't spilled over since.
