I saw Manson again in Philly at cool venue called The Electric Factory, we were at the corner of the right side of the stage, we were close enough I got “Daisy” Berkowitz attention, and Manson’s by screaming Reverend, he turned around and gave me this deranged smile, and waved his fingers at me, mimicking the movement of spider legs, I was so fucking cool…That's an awesome story! But then, Manson never put on a boring show. The first time I saw them was by accident at a little bar called Rock&Roll Revolution in Deep Ellum in 1992. Nobody had a clue who they were.
The band wasn't quite so theatrical yet, but it was still an amazing show. We were all kind of taken aback because even then there wasn't quite anything else like them, except maybe GWAR or Skinny Puppy. And even those were so different as to make Manson incomparable. really.
