Let It All Bleed Out
In the haste to eradicate ISIS militants wherever they are hiding, the US-led Coalition fighter jets often miss their target/s and end up pounding civilian areas with shitloads of cluster bombs, barrel bombs, missles of all sizes (ie: 500lb bombs), etc.

This "Coalition" involves many NATO countries, including the US. Other countries taking part in bombing sorties throughout Syria include Australia, The Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Belgium, France, Germany, the UK and Canada, to mention a few. Russia has withdrawn it's fighter jet and Canada is supposed to do the same in the near future. It's not known which country's jets were involved in this airstrike.

Anyways, this airstrike seems to have resulted from poor intelligence or from targeting systems falling short or too far of their objective. Maybe a group of ISIS fighters were there an hour before the airstrike...maybe not.

When the fighter jets dropped their deadly payload/s they hit an open market, killing about 25 civilians - many of them young kids.

Kinky as a twisted chain
There is no such thing as totally precise bombing and there is no such thing as battle in which innocents do not die. This is a sad mistake, but one that is not going to be fixed in our life time.

ARSELING
Maybe they should work with 'Bomber Harris' system now. Declare the whole city/area as the target, because the IS is hiding there (and get maybe help from the people). No 'collateral damage' anymore.
And much more incendiary bombs are useful too.

TRUMP or BUST
For some reason most Western civilians and government people think that dropping bombs is fine and dandy and shouldn't be thought of as war crimes or anything because, well, they can't see it because it's from the air first of all... it's not so 'dirty' as street to street urban warfare fighting, or not nearly as real as hand to hand fighting with knives or blunt objects or swinging your AK at someones face, nothing like that. I mean, who cares if the bombs we drop now literally sucks all the oxygen out of an area and either explodes your innards inside of you, or pulls your organs out through your asshole and your mouth while you're still alive, hey, it's "different".

We've had that opinion since WW2 when we dropped bombs on German and Japanese cities that were designed to blast apart as much material as possible, and then come back around later that night or the next day and then proceed to drop firebombs that would ignite the rubble from the previous bombs as viciously and ruthlessly as possible, lighting as many people on fire as they could, those that didn't suffocate because the air literally lacked any oxygen at that point.

Nice. Really nice. Bringing more democracy to cheering crowds wanting it.

Some good points, but I don't think that the US-led coalition jets in Syria are purposely targeting civilians. Atleast not like WW2 when the US and Brits firebombed the shit out of Dresden and knew exactly who was dying in the air raids: civilians and nothing of military importance or value. Same with Hiroshima and Nagasaki - the US knew that it was going to obliterate thousands of civilians. But then get recent wars like the Urkaine conflict: 10 people killed by Ukraine grad strikes - War Crime. The pro-Russians drop artillery on a civilian village - War Crime. I don't get it.

I have a feeling that ISIS (et al) is resorting to blending with the population, using them as human shields. We saw the same thing with the VNC during Vietnam. Intelligence knows where they but it turns out they're in the middle of a large civilian area, thinking that the coalition will not fire on them. Survivors rarely report that ISIS militants (or other rebels) where at an sir-strike site and whatever number of them well killed because ISIS is still there. Maybe the mentality is drop bombs first - ask questions later.

Urban warfare in previous wars (WW1, WW2, Korea) was a bit easier because soldiers could tell who their enemies were: the all wore uniforms, had different helmets, different weapons, tanks, etc. Today, coalition boots on the ground in Iraq and Syria don't know if someone they see is an enemy or not because most of the militants dress the same as the civilians. By the time they scope it out, as happened in Falluja, you've got coalition men down. There's no answer to it - war will be war.
