I'm in two minds: aliens probably exist, but we'll never know for certain. We're too stupid and volatile as a species to ever amount to much on a galactic scale - if we can't solve this "religion bullshit" or "patriotic bullshit" we'll all be dead in 500-years.

OR

Humanity are aliens, created by intelligences far suprierior than ourselves, and dumped on this world to proliferate, and spread. Then we'll either be scooped up as cannon-fodder for a alien war in the future, or we'll be harvested for our organs, fluids, and stockpiles of memes.

Never saw the actual craft, but went out for a smoke about 3 am and saw a circular shadow cast down on the topside of some wispy clouds by the moon. Clouds got too thick and it was gone.
