It’s not a big a win as you think because they often do that for the new president. Talk on the phone or visit and I’m sure Trudeau didn’t just go to see him he had other things to do as well. I could be wrong about that though in this case.
He’s leading his country through an invasion and war. This is not a desperation this is him doing something pretty cleaver actually. he knows that trump hates nothing more than being a loser. To a point where he will try to spit the constitution and steal an election as he did in 2020. He is saying he is a loser if he bows to Putin. He’s egging Trump on,in a sense, to prove him wrong.
also if Zelensky is desperate than Putin is more so.
I’m am just talking about his Ukraine policy when I say I am going to hold you to that because you boast about Trump dropping Ukraine and its people and cause. You and others seem almost gleeful about it and talk like you can’t wait for the Ukrainians to be betrayed. Which I think is a contemptible way to talk and be. I will hold you guys to that. The other stuff is a separate conversation. I think he might get some serious deportation going on actually.
But if you look at his last administration, he proved he can talk a good game, and I don’t think he even does that, but he talks but as president he couldn’t get most of the shit he said done.
But in a way that’s normal. Most presidents can’t do alot. Thats how our system is set up. Deliberately. But the thing is Trump voters seem to think he isn’t just like any other politician but he is. But in some ways, I think for the most part in bad ways, he isn’t like a regular politican.
There is a lot to be said about the above but I won’t go into them until you ask for examples.
