The nest is big and looks if they had much work to build it. Do they build it new every year, or keep the nest for longer?

Hi McM.
The nest is specifically their breeding nest and it's gigantic. Approximately 6 feet across and in the center, 6 feet deep.
This tree has held Harriets nest for roughly 15 years, possibly longer. In 2016, I think it was, the nest total collapsed. She and M rebuilt it from scratch. After the babes fledge and leave, Mom and Dad will also leave the nest. They have another one in the area for summer months. They come back every season, fix what needs fixing. M15 is a madman when it comes to hunting sticks, moss and airplants.
LOL

That's interesting. How did they start 15 years ago? I guess by building a small nest or did they search for an abandoned nest and restore it?

She and her mate back then decided they liked that tree and built a nest, it's been there ever since.

They build from scratch, one stick at a time. There's a time lapse of her and M rebuilding after the collapse. It's amazing. I'll try to find it.

It's warm this morning. Going into the 80's, with a 100% humidity...

Everybody... spread out.
Don't touch, lol.

The cam is doing a close up right now of the nest... there is a ridiculous amount of food laying everywhere.
