Google is Evil

lol it's an american search engine and an american ISP - not exactly the backbone providers of the entire internet last time I checked :)

Out of the 10 Tier-1 networks, only 6 are located in the United States and other are international. Global Crossing is headquartered in Hamilton, Bermuda, TeliaSonera is headquartered in Sweden and Tinet which has its operational headquarters in Italy. This demonstrates a shift in the way internet traffic is being carried with lower reliance on US networks.
I feel sorry for you guys getting ass fucked by corporate America but the rest of the world would carry on, and this "second level of internet" would just seem like a subscription TV channel to avoid.

I don't see this big concern with data mining for targeted advertising etc that google does, your own ISP logs every fucking move you make online and somehow because people pay them every month for the privilege of surfing the net these mega corporate giants + some six sigma (lmao) call center in India that has some curry muncher with access to basically your entire credit/banking history, secret questions, PIN's and passwords, are more trustworthy with your data then google is with your gay porn cookies. It's already made headlines with Indian crime gangs having a great time with your credit cards, extremely low paid phone monkeys are easy to bribe apparently.

But hey let's all worry about google noticing you have a taste for say, for gay porn every now and then, and then placing gay dating ads on the the google ad enabled sites you visit. Serious business.

Someone point out where google installed a keylogger on my pc, relayed passwords etc from a secure socket layer or actually harvested something that I'd give a fuck about.

If you're worried about tracking, then you need to tunnel your internet connection to a direct line. You're ISP is tracking you, though if only by filters that sends an alert if you happen to find stuff you shouldn't have been doing lol
The local cable company threatened to disconnect my internet because I was "using ports associated with illegal activities" and I would be turned in to the proper authorities if I continued (at that time, they could have as I was seeding legal stuff HA). I called them up, asked to speak with a supervisor about it, told them to shove it unless they want to go to court for threatening me (they actually sent a letter in the mail) without any proper proof. I never stopped the torrent and I never heard anything from them again about it.
All they use is a program to "detect illegal activities" over the millions of packets being sent through their servers every hour. I'd love for them to actually do it by hand. It would be much more amusing.
