During the 20'teens there was so much coverage (photos & vids) of ISIS in Syria and Iraq that I ended up with a huge number of ISIS-related war images, so I think that instead of posting up a bunch of separate threads for each battle or scene that I'd just pop them all up into a mega thread. Updates will be ongoing. Note: these are not recent images.

This first set took place in Hasaka, Syria on Nov. 7, 2015 when ISIS and forces from the YPG/SDF fought it out: ISIS lost. There are a few images of the same body.

Syrian Army Outpost Overrun, Syria, 2016

ISIS pretty much adopted the ol' version of the German WW2 Blitzkrieg to take opponents in lightning fast assaults. Many Syrian Army posts were isolated out in the desert and sometimes they were first hit by a suicide bomber in a truck/car or a bomb-drop from a drone. Then came the assault: massive fire power from truck-mounted AA guns and one or more waves of fighters, AK's blazing away along with RPG's, mounting any outer defense walls and overrunning positions inside the base before the Syrians knew what was happening.

The objective wasn't to completely annihilate the outpost but to cut communication lines and kill the defenders, leaving weapons (large and small), equipment and ammo unscathed to take back to their base - war booty that ISIS needed. This set doesn't illustrate this tactic (although it was used to surprise and decimate these poor buggers) but some future sets will.

1. ISIS also learned another tactic from the Germans - use AA guns on ground forces.
