Milat relative remanded over murder charge

The teenage relative of Ivan Milat, accused of murdering his mate with an axe in the Belanglo Forest, will spend Christmas in custody and away from his young baby.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, yesterday made a brief appearance via video link at Campbelltown Children's Court accused of murdering 17-year-old David Auchterlonie.

Family of the accused murderer attended in support yesterday, with one woman blowing him a kiss while a man gave him a thumbs up as they walked out. The accused is also the father of a baby, with the child's mother living in regional NSW. His Facebook profile had shown him proudly holding the newborn. However, his webpage had been deleted since his arrest.

He will spend Christmas away from the baby after he did not apply for bail and his matter is not to appear in court again until February.

The teenager, along with two others, allegedly lured David to Belanglo on Saturday night.

The teenagers allegedly told David they were taking him there to smoke cannabis and drink alcohol to mark his 17th birthday.

Milat's relative then allegedly called David to the boot of the car, where he struck him in the head before chasing him and striking him in the back of the head with an axe. David's body was discovered in the forest on Sunday night, covered by leafs and sticks, after one of the other teenagers went to the police.

Two 18-year-olds both from Bargo Cohen Klein and another who cannot be named have been charged with being accessories after the fact of murder.

The pair have both been refused bail and are due to appear in court again next month.

I remember seeing a documentary on him which claimed he allegedly tied the bodies of some of his victims up in the forest trees and used them for target practice.
