“Homicide At Midtown Marriott”. This case is more recent than the rest, happened in Alaska of all places.

Middle-aged dude named Brian Smith drugs, tortures, rapes and strangles a sex worker to death while recording his atrocities. The recording is uploaded to a SD card which he left abandoned in a parking lot near the hotel where the murder happened. Some random passerby finds and turns in the card to Anchorage Police.
