Phoenix police say a father urinated on his young child during an argument with his wife. The police department says it arrested 31-year-old Sergio Velderrain Sunday on suspicion of child abuse.
The Arizona Republic ( http://bit.ly/GB0ssl) reports police were called about 2 a.m. by Velderrain's wife to a west Phoenix apartment complex.
Police said that in the midst of the argument, Velderrain began urinating on his 4-month-child, who had been asleep in a stroller. Velderrain then reportedly fled the scene before officers arrived.
Sunday afternoon, Velderrain was found and taken into custody. He is currently in jail.
According to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, Velderrain is ineligible for bond due to a hold by U.S. Immigration officials.
An initial hearing is scheduled next Monday.
It couldn't be immediately determined if Velderrain has an attorney.
