Back in 1989, as wide-spread protests against his dictatorship grew, Romania's Communist leader fled the country only to caught in Bucharest. He was tried and convicted of genocide and then executed, along with his wife.
On the day that the leader fled, masses of protesters were gathering in several small cities. They were angry and soon became violent.
The military was called in. In a few cases, the mob was able to encircle and kill atleast 6 soldiers and officers.
One of the officers who was beaten and battered to death was 40 yr old Major Aurel Agache who is shown in the pics below once his body was delivered to the morgue.
