A tragedy.
People like him are born maybe once every thousand years, skilled test pilot than selected first to walk on the moon. I don't see anyone else stepping into his shoes now though, no ones into exploration these days unless its with robotics.

I hope that we send some people to Mars soon but I don't really know how plausible that is!
