The enemy had intimate knowledge of the terrain, they had fighting positions, experience living at that altitude, a larger fighting force, combat experience, and more. These werent random idiots. Taliban has a lot of very seasoned fighters - fighting longer than I've been alive in many cases. They also had PKMs and RPGs. Pssh
