Let It All Bleed Out
A year later, I realized that I still hadn't posted these images.

So, the next few sets are of an ambush that the Sryian Army and Lebanese Hezbollah militiamen set up to target a large number of FSA fighters.

Eastern Ghouta, Syria, Feb. 27, 2014.

Set 1.

1. Grainy night time vid grab showing a long line of rebel forces moving along the planned ambush route.

At night, nearly 200 fighters (mostly Nursa Front rebels) moved out on foot to relocate to an area just east of Damascus. The route they took is a narrow stretch of raised dirt and sand mostly curbed on each side by dense scrub brush.

Word of the large rebel force planning to move through this dusty stretch quickly reached opposition fighters and the Syrian Army.

Several large remote-controlled mines had planted along the pathway by the Assad forces to kick off the ambush.

As the line of rebel forces, walking 2 to 3 men abreast, reached a specific point the planted mines were detonated to take out the front of the rebel column, the back of it and the middle.

The command to blow the mines was called as the rebels were stretched out along the dirt pathway.

The effect of the mines, suddenly exploding in the pitch dark, was devastating to the column of slowing moving Nursa Front fighters. Rebels that survived the mines attempted to scramble to cover but were cut down in droves by Syrian forces that were hiding in wait to mop up any rebels that were still alive.

The rebel force was quickly reduced to piles of dead men who probably didn't even know what hit them.

At the time, this ambush was hailed as the largest victory for the Assad regime against the FSA.

ARSELING
There's a reason not to march in large, dense columns in certain areas.
(Judging from the video still-picture only)
