In Wichita Kansas, for 31 years a killer called him the BTK Strangler. 'BTK'- for 'Bind them, Torture them, Kill them'.
He sexually assaulted and strangled a series of victims beginning with the Otero family in 1974. He taunted the police with letters, cryptic cards and bragged about his crimes to newspapers - much like the Zodiac Killer a few years earlier.
He re-emerged in 2004, sending multiple letters/packages to police, even giving up previously obtained trophies to prove his identity. He was
10 victims in total but a man no one suspected - a president of his Church, a Boy Scout leader, devoted husband and friendly neighbor.
