Japan ex PM Shinzo Abe was giving a speech in Nara when he was shot by a man armed with a homemade shotgun. The shooter missed the first shot but the second hit Shinzo. He died shortly after.

There are some videos in the internet but most of them aren't clear since they're shaky, so i managed to find this one

It sucks for Abe and his family, but I can respect political assassinations, especially then they actually go through the trouble of making the weapon.

At least they had the courage of their convictions unlike the majority of people.
Although his security fucked up and didn't cover him after the initial explosion, I suppose some slack shown to them consider it is Japan and gun violence is virtually nonexistent there.

Apparently everybody who didn't saw the shooter though that it was some explosion and not a gunshot. Even the person who was filming was saying "huh? Huh?" very confused with the situation

Pretty sure that no one that saw the shooter thought that loud noise was an actual gun fire.

Remember, firearm related crimes is very rare to happen in Japan

I don't know much about Japan's politics but seems like that he was disliked and even hated by many people due to his inefficiency in some moments and the fact that he went to a memorial of ww2 japanese soldiers to pray, which angered many korean and chinese people because during ww2 japanese soldiers committed several war crimes against koreans and chinese people.

Inejiro Asanuma was stabbed by Otoya Yamaguchi with a short samurai sword (called Wakizashi) during a speech in 1960. Asanuma supported ideals similar to Maoist China and other similar socialist countries. Maybe this led the student to make history. Yeah, he should've used a samurai sword. Killing with a gun is so not-asian style
