It's a damn shame that stupidity is not fatal as often as it should be.
I once put battery jump cables on the wrong terminals. Red to black, black to red. It was a huge spark at contact but I powered through it like a man and got them connected.
Then I used a 2x4 to swat the melting and extremely hot cables away bc they were molten plastic and copper wires.
