This reminds me of something I observed. I don't know if there is something in the water in that part of the world, but a very large percentage of Chinese and Taiwanese citizens I have gotten to know in the past turned out to be kind of dimwitted and not very competent in general, even the highly educated ones. Somehow I usually don't see that with Americans of Chinese descent (born in U.S. but with parents or grandparents from China).
