loved the shocking darker sicker stuff and I went through a very suicidal hardcover self harming stage (no pride and no pics people, sorry.. was a very personal thing culminating in a few weeks of intensive care after doing my femoral and axillary artery, then trying to push a fire poker through my chest, passed out.. strange one) .........soso sorry love I went through the same horror after my parents died lost both in 01 I stopped eating got down to ninety lbs I was a fucking mess I can relate,hubby and close friends got me through it I'm so glad your doing much better sweetness ~hugs~
The fascination with gore was when I was 14 and riding my mare back home with GF on her horse from a trail ride we heard the sound of cars crashing on the same road we were on and then we came upon the carnage both passengers got ejected from their car they had slammed into phone pole and were both dead so we tied up our horse's and took in the glorious graphic view she was all fucked up and he was de caped with his head laying a few feet away.... and we both smiled and looked at each other and went WOW This Is So Cool hehehee been hooked every since on graphic violence and such.......cheer's

Because it's the only thing that can get me off. Its kinda how I like to pass time, thinking up scenarios that could happen.
Started out from just being bored, naive, and curious in high school ... Finding rotten.com... then I would fantasize of what possibly is going on somewhere else in the world because my life was heavily censored and fake, growing up in a Christian yet middle class military family and the internet started taking over entertainment and media. So... I would use it to get my fix... Porn, Gore, and everything else in the world I fantasized about at night trying to sleep.
I used to sneak out of bed and watch cable TV at very low volumes... Beavis and Butthead, soft core porn on HBO or cinemax and even pay per view but you had to flip the channel up and down if you managed to make out a discolored tit. I was like 9-13 yrs old. I was into all types of stupid ass shit... Vandalism, riding my bike as fast as possible down and up steep hills (quite a few times I've popped the chain off and went sliding down the pavement with no safety gear. After awhile you get used to that shit and do it again the next day...), Huge pyro as well... Lit a lot of shit on fire for the hell of it. I'm surprised I'm not rotting away in prison.
A lot of teen angst, andrenaline addict, and deprived of a lot of luxuries of my peers... I ended up using the internet to fill in the void. Spent almost a decade on the internet ... Yahoo chat (roleplaying sometimes), searching blogspots (soulseek, limewire, blogspot.com) finding rare and original music... the anarcho punk and crust music (as well as grindcore, power violence, even old industrial or ambient artists), horror punk... A lot of these guys used Gore imagery to symbolize man's faults and irony... Or straight up wanted to fuck up your day.
These various cultures I subscribed to all pretty much viewed gore as an entity all in itself and were more into the cold reality of life and shunning most mundane media outlets due to their bias nature.
So there's a few reasons... But one of the more personal motives is depression and suicidal thoughts. Lonely, debating offing myself, life in shambles with no idea wtf to do... So instead of offing myself I watched others do this. Out of nowhere I was thankful I have what I have... I looked at life like I was given another lease.
Then... I eventually started slamming H and Opana... Blah blah blah...

damn, sorry to more or less necro the thread, but, morbid curiosity. started off from me wanting to work in forensics way back in elementary school. i found sites like bestgore from edgy kids at school and the early days of the internet. got back into it after i decided i wanted to be a mortician, then it morphed into "hey, actually cool medical stuff" along with "this is actually interesting".

I love the realism gore gives. I used to think everything was fun and games before reading about serial killers. Then that inevitably made me want to see their evil deeds visually. AND BOOM now im a masochist LOL plot twist
