Set 9.

Set 10.

2. Not sure if the American under the vehicle is alive or if he's part of the recovery team.

3. Bastogne, Belgium: several US tanker crews, that had to ditch their tanks, take up armed infantry positions. Dec. 20, 1944.

4. A wounded German officer is guarded by a British soldier in Egypt, Nov. 13, 1942.

Here's a couple of new sets that are mostly from the Allied invasion of Normandy, or D-Day. Some of them I have posted in other threads but when/if I find larger and higher quality images I repost them - kinda like reposting myself. I hope that some of the images are new to folks...vets and new comers.

Set 11.

1. Dead German SS Waffen grenadier. The tube by his left shoulder contains a spare MG barrell. July 28, 1944.

2. German soldiers bury two dead Brits and two German soldiers side-by-side.

3. Canadian medics treat a Canadian soldier with a head wound. The soldier took a bullet to his helmet (check out the helmet in lower left corner). France, July 15, 1944.

4. French civilians place flowers on the body of a dead US soldier in Carentan, France, June 1945. The Frenchman kneeling by the body was a vet of the First World War. This photo did not pass the US Censor Office because it showed that another US soldier (at right edge of photo) was filming the moment - making it look staged.

Set 12.

2. French civilians in Sainte-Quentin, France, carve up a dead horse for meat (any type of meat was very scarce during the war). Sept. 3, 1944.

3. Same as above. In this shot, we can see a man with a knife giving meat to an old lady.

4. Civilians walk past the body of a dead German soldier in Cherbourg, France, 1944.

1. A rarely seen photo of US crews collecting US soldiers that were killed during the Battle of the Bulge. Jan. 1945.

2. The body of a dead British Colonial Soldier.

3. Dead German officer. 1945.

4. Dead German soldiers lay among the wreck of their knocked out convoy. Kursk.

Set 14.

1. Dead German soldier with US soldiers and US MP's in the background. Trevieres, France, July 15, 1944.

2. Two US soldiers from an armored division inspect the remains of a dead German tanker crewman who ended up draped over the tank barrel. Roncey, France, Aug. 1 (probably 1944).

3. US personnel (in this case, Engineers) pull the bodies of US soldiers onto the beach after Easy Red, Omaha Beach was secured. June 6, 1944.

4. Body of a Polish fighter pilot shot down over Hamburg in August of 1943.

Set 15.

1. This image shows a cart that was taken out in an artillery strike (impact crated lower left) and was reportedly full of civilians...who are now dead. The car to the right is a German car and there is a German soldier in the distance walking back to the scene.

2. Dead Russian tank crewmen beside their knocked out tank.

3. Knocked out Russian tank and a dead crewman. Belgorod, 1943.

Set 16.

1. A dead soldier beside a pantherturm. Berlin, Germany, 1945.

2. A Waffen SS soldier dead on a bridge. Sept. 1, 1944.

3. A dead German paratrooper in a ditch where he fell.

4. A scene from St-Lo, France where an American tank took a hit which also killed and wounded several US soldiers who were nearby. One dead US soldier can be seen on the ground behind the tank laying among several US helmets and equipment. June 25, 1944.

Set 17.

1. Many have seen this image, taken after the Americans had taken a beach in France on June 7, 1944.

2. But not this version. I cropped this one to get in closer to the dead American on the beach.

3. US Soldiers evacuating their dead in Belgium (Battle of the Bulge) in Jan. 1945.

4. A German soldier poses infront of a bullet riddled French van and the field graves of 2 French soldiers who were probably killed in it.
