I should get one. I've wanted a slow cooker for a while. They use hardly any electric and it's just a case of sticking all the ingredients in and leave it till its done. I can make a good panacalti(?) Don't know if that's the correct spelling. Corned beef, leeks, carrots, potatoes are the main ingredients I believe. Then a gravy/sauce and whatever other veg you have laying around. It's eaten with crusty bread and butter. A big pan can last a week. I've not made it in years. I'm pretty good at curry but terrible at rice. I get the microwave packets which can be cheap but are quite small. I followed a recipe for a pork and pineapple curry once. I made it incredibly hot and spicy so when my mouth would burn I'd have a chunk of pineapple. I got a full one from the market instead of a tin. That's probably the best meal I've ever made. I was the only one to eat it so I don't know if it would have appealed to anyone else. A rice cooker would be a good investment. I've tried to cook rice in a microwave before... Never again.
Whatever I cook I obviously know what's in it so I'm comfortable eating it all. Can't say that for mass produced microwave shite. They don't care what they feed you.
yea dude i think a slow cooker is a great investment. i wish you luck though. i know it can be difficult. :tu:
maybe microwave meals are better now than they were back then. idk. but i will NEVER EVER EVER EVER.....EVER! put pizza in the micro. no fucking way. a toaster oven is the way to go. even to heat it up.

Slow cookers are cheap and brilliant things to have,as you say they can be throw everything in and just leave it to cook, pulled pork is wonderful in it. Also when your average Chinese cooks rice it’s always in a slow cooker they think cooking rice in a saucepan is weird having said that I do cook rice in a pan.

I didn't know rice could be made in a slow cooker. I'm going to have to get myself one. Hope they aren't too expensive.

Get an instant pot (or similar device) it’s a slow cooker, pressure cooker (which are fucking awesome), rice maker, congee maker, blowjob giver (ok, I may have made that one up) but they are more versatile than just a slow cooker. All sorts of online recipes.

As for my dinner tonight, disappointing. The way food services works at this hospital is every morning with your breakfast you get your menu for the next day where you can select your three meals from a few limited selections (e.g. for lunch entree choice of a couple different sandwiches or a stew), your sides and beverages. Food isn’t often great but it’s also not often disgusting but it is always boring and predictable. I found out that they also have a set menu of some items that are available all the time and there are things on that list I’m partial to vs the daily menus I was getting.

So for today’s dinner yesterday morning I order a tossed salad, soup (soup here is actually very good), beef lasagna and a double side of peas (I like peas). This is what got......

A big ass plate of peas and a side of gravy. WTF am I supposed to do with this? I did a lot of physio this afternoon so was hungry :( And I can just imagine the baby poo I’m going to produce tomorrow.

Why are you in hospital? Is it a recent thing? I like hospital food! It's a bit sterile but acceptable.
I fucked my back lifting weights over a month ago and the only thing that eases the pain is heroin. When I don't have any or painkillers I'm in just as much pain as when this first started. So in a month I've not improved. I lie in bed all day and night only getting up for the toilet and water. Getting up absolutely fkin twats my neck and shoulders and I rush to get back to bed. I've tried to get help with no luck so far. Ambulance crew treat me like a liar. Like I'm not in as much pain as I am. A bone in my neck / spine has moved, I can feel it. Nobody else thinks so but it's my body which I've had all my life, so I fkin know. The pain is too much. I'm really struggling. Fuck knows how ill be able to get out on Thursday and pick up my meths and score and get tablets.
I need proper fkin help with this which I'm not getting

Jesus that’s rough, I’m very sorry to hear you’re going through this. Chronic pain is a bitch, doubly so if you’re trying to convince healthcare you’re for real.

I’m dealing with the after effects of covid. It’s caused some weird muscle weakness/loss that I’m now rehabbing.

It's the worst pain I've ever experienced. I'm ok lying down but getting up is agony.
I can't keep on like this I'll die. I'll have lost a good bit of weight by now.
When I first got this I looked up covid and back pain and saw an Indian Dr's first symptom was back pain so I figured it was the rona. But this is just crippling pain no cold/flu symptoms.
I've been needing the bog for hours but can't face it.
Wish I had a gun..
