North Woods Inn red cabbage salad (anyone else on GG ever been there, I only know of their location in Covina.....trippy place for a kid)

buttermilk potato salad (potatoes and parsley from mom's garden, chives from my backyard)

venison bratwursts (deer from my property shot & dressed by a neighbor, no idea what butcher turned it into sausage...I've had other things he's killed but never brats, they were yummy)

Been there many times. Grew up near there. The red and green salad and cheese bread...the best!

Thats awesome! Dad was working in Fontana for a few years and we'd go down every couple months to visit. North Woods was one of the regular stops, along with Disney and Knots (which drove my friends at home crazy that I got to go so often). Dad's condo was in Rancho Cucamonga which I thought was great given the Bugs Bunny connection.

That is amazing! I live very near Rancho Cucamonga. North Woods was one of Mom's favorites. We used to go to lunch there a few times a month. Now that she's gone, my brother and I go at least once a year. Fontana, huh? You wouldn't recognize it now. Sounds like you had some fun in Southern California!

Wow, small world! Dad's condo was right across Foothills from Gemco, that was another cool place for a kid....liquor, in a grocery store...totally foreign concept for a Canadian. It was kind of fun and did get to see a lot of things. :)

And I can imagine lots has changed. Dad was the lead engineer on the dismantling of the Kaiser pipe mill and just taking a look at google maps it looks like all that property has been completely redeveloped.

Lol...yes, Gemco was fun, used to go shopping there with my Mom. So sad when it closed, it was the forerunner of Target. As I recall, Kaiser Steel closing was a big deal for Fontana...a lot of jobs gone. Definitely a small world!:)

OT: Made a deep dish pesto and cheese pizza for my daughter and myself.

Dad had mixed feelings about his contract as the plant, and all the jobs, were moving to china. I can imagine that a lot of people's lives were changed.

That looks yummy.....crusty cheese :p
