There's a compatibility file in the workshop that allows you to use a part of the content for free. Full access to everything did cost me 20 bucks yesterday.
It's not bad. the new map/terrain of Vietnam is HUGE and quite well made and the old US and Chinese/Russian weapons have great models/ sounds. Of course, it will last a year or two until all the bugs are fixed and the other modders will (maybe) create compatibility files for their stuff as well. We'll see.
