Calgary Zoo staff mourning unexpected death of four-year-old macaque

A four-year-old Japanese macaque has died after a failed introduction to a group of six females at the Calgary Zoo last weekend.

During introduction activities, Kyubi was attacked by his habitat mates and sustained traumatic injuries. Kyubi died as a result, despite the efforts of caregivers and the zoo’s veterinary team to help him recover.
