movies Top 10 films you would recommend everyone should watch ?

In no order just a thread for people to get ideas

1) Moneyball = Billy Beane, a baseball general manager, and Peter Brand, an economics graduate, challenge convention as they try to form a competitive sports team using computer-based methods.

2) Rainman = Charlie, a selfish automobile dealer, kidnaps his autistic brother Raymond and tries to manipulate him into giving up his inheritance from their late father.

3) Godfather = he Godfather was released on March 15, 1972. The feature-length film was directed by Francis Ford Coppola and based upon Mario Puzo's novel of the same name. The plot begins with Don Vito Corleone declining an offer to join in the narcotics business with notorious drug lord Virgil Sollozzo, which leads to an assassination attempt. Meanwhile, Vito's oldest son Sonny takes over the family and Michael strikes back for the assassination attempt by killing Sollozzo and a corrupted police captain, forcing Michael to go to Sicily in hiding. While in Sicily, Michael travels around the country and meets a woman he marries but who is killed in a car bombing. Michael returns to America after the news of his brother Sonny's murder. Vito then turns over the reins of the family to Michael. Michael plans to move the family business to Las Vegas; but before the move, his father dies, and he plots the killing of the heads of the five families on the day of his nephew's baptism. Other subplots include Vito's daughter's abusive marriage, Johnny Fontane's success in Hollywood and Vito's second son Fredo's role in the family business in Las Vegas.

4) silence of the lambs = Clarice Starling, an FBI agent, seeks help from Hannibal Lecter, a psychopathic serial killer and former psychiatrist, in order to apprehend another serial killer who has been claiming female victims.

5) Red Dragon = An FBI Agent is called out of early retirement to catch a serial killer. He asks for the help of his arch-nemesis, Dr Hannibal Lecter.

6) lord of the rings = The Lord of the Rings is a series of three epic fantasy adventure films directed by Peter Jackson, based on the novel written by J. R. R. Tolkien. The films are subtitled The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King.

7) the warriors = A gang called 'The Warriors' are framed for killing a gang leader trying to unite all the gangs in the area. With other gangs gunning for them they must get back alive to the home turf of Coney Island

8) Taxi Driver = Martic Scorcese's 1976 iconic hit Taxi Driver starred Robert de Niro as Travis Bickle, a Ney York City cab driver whose psychological state deteriorates over the course of the film after he struggles with a series of infatuations and a distorted worldview.

9) Nightcrawler = Louis Bloom, a petty thief, realises that he can make money by capturing photographs of crime scenes and starts resorting to extreme tactics to get them.


10) bronson = In this drama based on a true story, there's no one tougher or more brutal in the English penal system than prisoner Michael Peterson, aka Charles Bronson (Tom Hardy). First incarcerated after robbing a jewelry store, the married Bronson is sentenced to seven years. But his incorrigible, savage behavior quickly gets him in trouble with guards, fellow inmates and even a dog. The only place where Bronson can't do any harm is in solitary confinement, where he spends most of his time
