Beyond Meat cuts revenue outlook, says it's trimming workforce

Beyond Meat on Thursday lowered its revenue forecast for 2022 and announced it will trim its workforce by 4%, citing broader economic uncertainty.

Personally I think faux meat is a fad will never reach mass acceptance. Despite Beyond Meat's and other's claims there's nothing peer-reviewed to say its healthier, its not without its own environmental impact and any product I've ever tried tasted like shit.

I'm not against plant based protein and even enjoy all sorts of tofu but this demonization of animal protein, ranching, etc. is just stupid.
 
Great news! Don't know whether the vegans around the world are the same as the ones we suffer here in the UK, but it's the unbearable, gag-inducing smugness I can't stand. It's not enough for them to just "enjoy" their overpriced, chemical and additive-packed, unappetising mush (which for some unfathomable reason always has to be pressed into a greyish-purple lump shaped like a burger or bacon rasher; for people who hate meat they're sure desperate to eat it) - they have to stop YOU enjoying your food as well. I went to the Download festival here a few weeks ago, and it was hilarious to see the small minority of preachy vegans queuing up at stalls to pay £15 for a grey soy nugget and fries, to then have to stand, nibbling tearfully on the crap, in a field literally scattered with tens of thousands of greasy chicken bones all the normal eaters had discarded. It looked like Dunkirk had been given an avian reenactment

This is the 2nd person in an hour who says that fake meat tastes like shit. I was going to sample this fake meat tomorrow just to verify that it does indeed taste like shit, but now I don't believe that's even necessary. Fake meat tastes like shit. Believe it!
 
I agree most vegan replicas are horrible, and the militant anti meat/ farming movement is utter bollocks.

We just need balance. Reduce food waste so that over production and over farming isn’t required. Therefore reducing pollution.

If the UK became totally vegan and stopped animal farming, our global environmental impact would be larger than now, as we would have to import much more food products from around the world.

Plus the NHS wouldn’t cope with the increased number of people getting unwell from nutrient deficiencies and anaemia. In my experience vegans need to supplement heavily with vitamins and minerals to be able to remain healthy.

I want OTHER people to eat it that way there's more real meat at a cheaper price for me. I hope they eat the cricket/roach powder as well so I can have the steak they didn't buy.

The less people eat meat, the more expensive it will become. More demand means higher production volumes and greater competition. Less demand means a niche market sold at higher margins to specific customers. Your $10 steak will cost $100

I wouldn't mind it if they could make it not taste like absolute shit.I have way to many family members who swear it's better than real meat.Its just one of those things I can't take,same with fucking almond milk and fake eggs.Do they do fake fish yet?

I had a Burger awhile back;And it tasted Fkn Awesome! I couldn't believe it,once I was told that it was a Plant Based Doppelganger! I really couldn't tell the difference! I'll try to get the name of the specific brand,And I'll post it!
