Well originally I believe it was Rockefeller but I could be wrong? I know the first drug law was for marijuana, marijuana has many medicinal properties, in it's organic state, eating it can actually cure cancer, anyway the first drug law was right around the time the automobile was first being produced, hemp oil could compete with "fossil fuels" (lol) as well as provide natural remedies that would compete with their pharmaceuticals. Marijuana is natural, can be grown anywhere by anyone so the people who are looking to make big profits see no money in natural remedies and I guess started making them illegal to destroy the competition.

Why do I know more? I am sure there is a balance, some things I am sure you know more than I do about.
