Have any of you rethought/regretted having children due to the things you have seen here?

I personally wouldn't have had children regardless due to not wanting them and not believing that I would be able to raise them correctly because of being raised pretty shitty myself and it's unfair to pass that on to others, but my thoughts on having kids have certainly been cemented by all the shit I see on here. It just seems ridiculous to even consider having kids and placing them in a world full of these people.

I don't have kids and glad I don't. Fiancee died before we could have them, later wife was unable to have kids. I feel bad for not carrying on the family name, but I'm thankful I didn't bring souls into being who would surely have to live through hell in their lifetime because of how the country is being destroyed more evey day.

Fair argument, but at least in times such as the great depression, wartimes, the holodomor, etc, etc, there was an end in sight.

However, I don't see people improving from what they currently are(not all people, just an insane majority; but the majority of people teach the majority of offspring, and then things continue onwards again) and yeah, with the large majority of people passing on bad values, imposing mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety, personality disorders, psychosis, etc, etc, through trauma, abuse, bad genes, etc, etc, then I'm not really sure that I see this coming to an end, not without a miracle or a blessing anyway

Poor people shouldn't have children. People unable to mentally be strong enough, and pass on good values and standards to children, should not have children. Idiots should not have children, this has been the case since the dawn of man, and it will be the case to the end. Unfortunately, if we all just decided to not have children, you'd have ended up a spunk stain on a curtain.......

As a parent myself, I'm extremely proud of my kids, they will do well in life. I'm 110% happy I had them, and wouldn't change it for anything. You get out of kids, what effort you put in.

My daughter's already accepted into university for becoming a Vet, Grade A student, my sons showing the same academic promise. You get what you invest. It's easy for me to say this, I live in a good area, have a nice job and live in a purely white area, with minimal crime. Obviously these things impact the upbringing of children, but again that falls back onto poor people and people not mentally capable of having kids argument.

If i was in Brazil and poor or Africa and poor, I'd 110% not have children!

But even if your kids do well, don't you worry about the other people around them? I'm not even talking about peer pressure or anything either, I'm talking about the sheer amount of fucked up people that will go out of their way to harm and prey upon others, and from the constant flood of fucked up shit that gets uploaded to this website alone on a daily basis, a fair bit of which seems to be either random or opportune(the majority being targeted crime in some way, but still enough random and opportunity crimes to be pretty alarming) I mean, people can raise children perfectly, but that still doesn't stop the potential of some random schizophrenic dragging your kid into an alley and stabbing them dozens of times, or shooting them in some random mass murder because they happened to be in that place at that time, or mistaking their identity and killing them over someone else's issue, or being set up or some shit, there's just too much chance for bad shit, even if they did literally nothing to bring it on, that would scare the shit out of me; even if I had kids and raised them well, they may STILL be subject to all that sort of shit

And yeah, environment and mental illness would play a massive part, but as I said, even if I had kids and they were raised in a good environment with good values, that doesn't mean that they won't be subject to those who weren't. Talk about shit.

I understand that most videos and images on here come from 3rd world countries for the most part, but I have met enough people in prison to understand that alot of crimes don't end up in the paper or on the news, suppression orders only need to be requested, and in a hell of a lot of cases, they are supplied, suppression orders can sometimes be necessary to protect the victims, or because the defendant has been found unfit to stand trial, or due to being a youth at the time the crime was committed, there's so much that doesn't get mentioned in the news, so many crimes(a lot of them pretty fucked up) that it makes it hard to think that even a "1st world country" like Australia is any better.(I was also referring mainly to the us with the mass shooting comment)

I also thought Scotland had a lot of crime, or is that a stereotype?

Our population for the entire Scotland is 5.5 million, over 50% of that all stay in the south, where I live in the north of Scotland, the highlands is very sparse, so very little crime. A much nicer way of living.
