Question for you all

Our population for the entire Scotland is 5.5 million, over 50% of that all stay in the south, where I live in the north of Scotland, the highlands is very sparse, so very little crime. A much nicer way of living.

Ah yep, that sounds pretty nice, looks like Ireland and Scotland are relatively decent places to settle down

Never regretted having kids, what I see here strengthens my beliefs that my role is to raise them so that they will better the gene pool and one day what is seen here will not exist anymore...
I hope you succeed, people need better people

Well idk about Ireland, they have that whole sectarian thing going on......... None of that in Scotland, other than 2 football teams that hate each other.

@Ratte ...... Ive had a shitty life growing up . Wont go into details . But i too was scared to have kids and raise them . BUT ive been blessed with 3 beautiful little girls and seeing them in this life has made me raise them OPOOSITE of how i was raised of course .. I give to them what i never was given or blesssed with . From the big to the smallest things to see them smile . The joy i never had , im giving them and enjoying it WITH THEM .

Long story short, the British took over Northern Ireland, and they have been a blood battle between terrorist groups for hundreds of years. If you want a decent movie to watch and maybe find out a bit more, watch Michael Collins.

I'm really happy for you, and I'm glad to hear that you broke the cycle, most don't or can't unfortunately, if only more people who went through those kinds of hardships were as strong and wise as yourself

Grouse, I'll chuck it on the download list and watch it tomorrow; sounds brutal, hundreds of years of terrorism I've literally never heard of, hardly coincidental I suspect

Have any of you rethought/regretted having children due to the things you have seen here?

I personally wouldn't have had children regardless due to not wanting them and not believing that I would be able to raise them correctly because of being raised pretty shitty myself and it's unfair to pass that on to others, but my thoughts on having kids have certainly been cemented by all the shit I see on here. It just seems ridiculous to even consider having kids and placing them in a world full of these people.
No. Children are the best expression of love and hope for the future. I just couldn't imagine life without them.

I'm (actually my wife) watching the little boogers (grandchildren) right now...i can tell one of them is getting hungry about now.

I've let my kids stand at the edge of Meteor Crater and the Grand Canyon...let your kids free, that was always my way.

You're getting a twisted view of humanity here...i find most people mostly try to do the right thing. Everything is going to be okay.

Never, I would give just about anything if it meant I could be a mother in the traditional/biological sense.
Could you perhaps be a father in the traditional/biological sense? You know, it's better than nothing.

Little boogers lol I'm happy for you and your family

And yeah I agree with that, letting your children be free is very important, subjugating those you love will just make a breeding ground for hate, amongst other things.

And it wasn't coming here that twisted my outlook, I came here because my outlook was already twisted, I know a bit about what people are capable of from experiences I've had, myself included, unfortunately. I just find it logical to remind myself what people are capable of as well as what can trigger these events, and how some might try to justify or evade it. People are alarming creatures.

I know it wouldn't be the same as birthing, but there are plenty of kids who have no mum or dad, they still need a home, family, decency, care, love, and kindness; besides, if you adopt, your vag won't stretch, I'm sure the hubby would be grateful lol

when i had kids, yes society and the world was messed up. but today? its ALL fucked up. a lot worse when we had them and when we were born. thats a promise. you all know it as well as i do. (at least here in the states anyway).
Agreed, everything's fucked

As I said before, my opinion is based off my own experiences in life and that of my children's. I wouldn't change it one bit.

im not saying changing what you did. would you have kids "today". saying your a newly wed, and contemplating on starting a family. taking into consideration the way the is world today.
Yes, 110%

Idgaf about how the world is, I only give a fuck about the corner I live in. If other countries are wank I couldn't care one bit.
