I have studied my whole life, trying to understand religion and spirituality, and I will never truly grasp what people see in abrahamic religion. It's not even what it was intended to be; even the Christians know that the Roman Empire cut up the teachings of Christianity to suit the needs of their state. The Catholics deem any new developments like the dead sea scrolls, and the nag hammadi library, as non-canonical. It just seems like a big money thing, at this point.
