ABC is akin to PBS or BBC. It's government funded and has moved from being a highly useful and informative organisation in the 1960's with vast regional stations in country areas and 'Voice Of Australia' stuff to being an uber woke organisation pushing wild claims about trans stuff, pro left propaganda, screaming 'global warming' every time we get a bush fire (Cook commented on smoke up and down the Aus east coast in 1770) or a flood.

Their on line 'news' has become so dumbed down that it looks like it is trying to attract 5 year olds.

They seem to have a strong interest in excrement, which they call 'poop'. I think this is a US term to attract the tic tok generation as all Aussie kids spend so much time on line playing US themed games that they are all talking with US accents and using US words. My 18 year old son is a classic case: gone is foot path, it's now 'side walk', take away food is 'take out', new has become 'noo' and garbage has become 'trash'.

My question for our community really is whether such dumbing down has become universal or am I fixated on nothing?

English is an 'evolving' language, with over 1 million recognised words in the English dictionary. French, on the other hand, is not evolving, and as a result, less and less speak it, and at this rate, it will go the same way as Latin (just a shame the actual French won't die out too - beautiful country ruined by having the French live in it).

So regarding terms that are no longer recognised because people use Americanisms instead, it has been going on for decades. Heck, I can't even gobble down on some juicy faggot or 'smoke a fag' like I once did... Whether we like it, or not, America is by default, the largest single speaker of English as a nation (either through first language or second), and as a result we will all (myself included, although I will kick and scream all the way) communicate in an American style.

But with regards to the dumming down, it breaks my heart to see what the BBC has become. They still refuse to call Hamas a terrorist organisation. They constantly undermine the centre right here in the UK whilst promoting the left wing, tree hugging, hippy woke cunts in opposition (Labour, Lib Dems & the Greens). At night they no longer cover UK news on a rolling basis - they go 'live over to America' and we are force fed news that is not relevant to us. I assume it will be by osmosis that I, too, start talking like our American cousins.

The dumbing down of societies started about 25 years ago with the school systems. And later the mainstream media Its a slow steady nudging into Fascism. You first have to make the general population less intelligent, this is not something that can happen overnight. Once there is enough stupidity in the general population you can then start imposing laws and regulations claiming them to be good for the enviroment and so forth when in actuality it is removing small freedoms and changing traditions that have been around for hundreds of years. Eventually the media will make articles hinting that everything that was good and wholesome becomes Old, tired and just wrong. Psy-Ops. is what this is known as and is a way of conditioning or controlling the general population into doing things, like herding cows. Its actually quite scary that so many have fallen for this. I believe 2024 will be a pivotal year for this movement which i fear will result in major unrest in the US and across the world.

You must watch a different BBC than I do.
