Serious question about heroin

I just read about some drug mule dying because one of the 100 plus condoms full of it he swallowed burst inside him. I have never taken any drugs myself, except for weed around my uni years, and I once had strong cocodamols for a torn ligament. They made me feel pretty nice...kinda all cosy and comfy. They turned my poops into concrete tho so i preferred the ankle pain. But when you see people in documentaries etc, when they do heroin it looks like they're having a really out of it moment.. I'm guessing it was like a cocodamol X 1000

So.. the question is, would a drug smuggler with a burst inside him have a lovely death or would they feel ill and realise what was happening and be scared. I'm sure a few of you druggy types on here have overdosed and lived etc..

A condom of heroin bursting inside your stomach pretty much is an instant Overdose.

There's, also, a chance it was laced with fentanyl, which is a far more potent version of that poppy seed extract (heroin). But yes. A condom full of heroin bursting in the stomach is a guarantee death. Any fucking moron who swallows condoms of heroin deserve that death.

I used heroin. I never overdosed but have experienced other people overdosing. Usually they slowly fall asleep and die due to the heroin lowering their rate of breathing. A heavy overdose you described I would think is the same, except there may be some stomach pain.

I've never used myself but I watched a good friend of mine OD on heroin to death. I couldn't save her with CPR and it took paramedics about 30 minutes to get there. She didn't really do much... just kinda gasped for air every now and then, turned blue all over, then kinda convulsed but not really like a hard convulsion like you see with seizures. After CPR for a while, she start gurgling and making choking sounds, so figuring she was going to throw up, I turned her on her side.. I don't think she actually threw up but this foul smelling weird looking.. well I'm not sure it was drool like saliva but for lack of better word, she was drooling it. Her pulse beats were far between and very weak. Paramedics said by the time I got to her, CPR wouldn't have helped anyway. One of the worst days of my life. We were supposed to meet up for a show but she stopped responding, when I went in, I found her slumped over with a needle still in her arm.

I'd imagine the mule would have too much stomach pain and be repetitively vomiting to enjoy any kinda high for those last few minutes before unconsciousness.

Actually had a friend who had a slightly different experience. Sure, he slept all day and puked when his body made him, we didn't have Narcan on hand at the time and ended up calling 9-11 to get him to the hospital. Turned out, he also had a nasty infection in his leg, which was reacting with the heroin, and if we hadn't called EMTs to help him, he would have been dead.

It's not guaranteed to kill you. For one thing heroin has a short half life of 30min(this is how long the effects last). The second is that your stomach acid would dilute and even break down some of it making part ineffective. Heroin is just a really strong pain reliever derived from morphine. The worst part is that it probably wouldn't kill you but it would cause you to go blind since your ocular and spinal nerves would absorb most of the chemicals. You would also be vomiting and shitting yourself. The way it would kill you would be by you passing out and having an apnea attack. Just like the ones that people have with sleep apnea except your body wouldnt be able to jolt you awake so you start breathing again. There would be no pain. Your body would just suffocate itself while you were unconscious.

Thank you... I really appreciate that. Not gonna lie, I teared up reliving that. It's been over 10 years ago but I can vividly remember every little thing that night. Fuck heroin!

"Addictive personality" is a pretty contentious and borderline actual thing in psychology...

Heroin OD feels exactly like a general anaesthetic induction if you've ever had one. One minute you feel woozy & tingly, next blackness...

Heroin is ( from what I remember seeing on a TV documentary ) the best painkiller that is known of, the program showed a diagram of human nerves in a state of pain, they had a jagged edge to them.. and the structure of heroin was also jagged, and fitted into the pained nerves perfectly.. I know that sounds odd, but that's how it was described.

It wouldn't be too bad.... a massive dose like that, they would probably only have a few seconds of euphoria before they would just be unconcious and never know what hit them. If it leaked out slowly enough, then yes they would start to feel pretty good, but the knowledge that the amount in them is loose they would probably start to panic, but as more and more is released they would go from panic to unable to keep from falling asleep. Once asleep it would transition to painless death.
