Yeah they do, they think it's fucked up but when I explained it's basically conditioning myself for a traumatic experience they somewhat understood.

Say someone's gets killed in front of another person and I, that other person is likely to be severely traumatized and require therapy for the next couple years.

Same goes for accidents as well though, I feel I'm more likely to remain calm and provide first aid instead of freezing up or panicking like lots of people do.

I'm gonna give a sympathetic "that fucking sucks" after and continue on with my day.


Now that I'm typing this out though, could be a strong possibility I'm just a psychopath.

The shock sites of the early 2000's like the original Ogrish and Rotten.com were never reliable sources of news nor did they provide in dept context to their images, they existed solely to shock. If you treat GG as a shock/gore site than that's on you, I look at it as Liveleak once put it - "documenting reality". Properly contextualized you can show any part of GG to mature friends and family and explain to them what is happening and why it's important to know it is happening (apart from the underground pornographic section of course)

My wife and kids know. We are totally open as a family. They don’t care. I used to watch videos of autopsies or surgery with my kids well before I became a member here to teach them anatomy.

This site shows the real world. I don’t see any issue with being interested in reality. Those that try to hide parts of reality away from others, cause more harm than good.
