Final thought on the origin of the cosmos.

What it boils down to is that to to believe in evolution, and everything came from nothing means that what science teaches now will constantly be changing, new theories and ideas will arise, after your dead there will continue to be new studies, and its 100% fact you'll die not knowing the truth. The creationist perspective never changes. The thing is to believe in the Bible's account of the universe, means we have the entire answer already there. There's no guessing, there's no theories, atleast in Christianity the case is closed. We have our answers. The evolutionists are the ones seeking an answer to which they cannot come up with, and that can never be truly proven. The answer has been right in front of us all this whole time.

The heavens declare the glory of God;
The skies proclaim the work of His hands.
Psalm 19:1

I prefer to be corrected multiple times until I get it right (or not) than to be stubbornly wrong / not consider new evidence. The whole mindset doesn't sound right to me, regardless its religious context. For example, I still feel like Pluto is a regular planet, but recognize that science says otherwise and accept it.

As an agnostic I'm kinda in the middle of all that gods discussions, and believe more in some yet undiscovered mechanism than conscious being. Being constantly corrected is something I expect and have no issue with.

Sold! Send me a bible. But not the English translation. I want original translations of the Old and the New Testament. I want the Word in all its purity, not diluted by culturally biased translations, nor distorted by temporal distance from the source. I want the Old Testament in Hebrew and Aramaic, and the New Testament in Koine Greek. If I'm going to convert I want the direct word of God, not a facsimile of a facsimile several iterations removed, distorted, and adulterated. Until I get those I'm virtually just using my smartphone to stare at a 2-dimensional digitization of a likewise 2D photograph of a 3-dimensional painting titled "Mona Lisa". If I do this I'm going to do it right. I'm not going to half-ass it like the vast majority of Christians. I want the truth, not its closest (or farthest) approximation.

nicely put sir.

And now for the koran in the original...

The type of people who believe the Bible are the type of people who would walk into a decorating shop and ask for a tin of stripey paint..
I think there is a gene that makes the bible believable. If you don't have it it makes no sense. If you do then it's obvious that it's true.

I have known some very bright people who believe in God and other equally bright ones who don't.

From a sociological perspective, religion is a useful repository of ways to behave and live your life that make cooperation possible. A series of mores and morals that make sense for a functional society.

When we become so secular we dispense with God then people make up their own religions. I'd put 'climate change', transgenderism, the whole LGBTQI thing along with marxism etc into the pseudo religion basket.

Certainly the 'trans women are real women' advocates have a very religious like approach to any questioning of the dogma around it. Same goes for advocates for Critical Race Theory for whom the world is composed of oppressors and oppressed with no shades of grey even possible.

You speak as if you are unaware that the Mothership could land at any moment, spilling the beans upon us peasant Earthlings that it's time for another extermination ... because they were sent by THEIR God on their own planet, to start an all new social experiment with us all. ( a bunch of reptilians in Monk hoods are currently working on the new Bible )

Completely agree. Shared fundamental beliefs are the bedrock of group/community/cultural/societal cohesion. Whether they are "good" beliefs or "bad" beliefs, is entirely relative and dependent on one's belonging to the in-group or the out-group.

everything came from nothing

When it comes to things that are unknown, all possibilities are open.
Therefore, it's not wise to immediately dismiss anything unless you can prove
i dont know who says that but have you ever considered the possibility that there has always been "something" and never a "nothing"
And since no one knows what was before the Big Bang, anything could be
As mentioned, when a topic is entirely unknown, all probabilities are open.

also there are some theories that something can be created from nothing
Neither gay religions nor sciences have definitive answers
but at least science can prove some shit

The digital achievements are based on scientific principles
The fact that a mobile phone functions as it does is a proof of the understanding of the interplay between different elements, atoms and Chemical interactions which was previously only a theory. This theory was then tested to see if it holds true.
I am also certain that science has its weaknesses because I could now claim that phones/camera etc... might actually be much better if science understood them correctly or much better, and they are not yet at the end of research or is even possible
i mean
How can I be sure that science has understood everything correctly because maybe everything could be better, and maybe we are just seeing the worst achievements there are
This thought applies to every area of science, not just to this example with digitization

But the sole reason we have these things is thanks to science and not to a caveman who wrote a book thousands of years ago.

Bring me your strongest argument that God exists, and I will easily refute it while sitting on the toilet and having diarrhea

im agnostic myself but i can tell i know every argument from both sides theists and atheists
because i have been dealing with this topic for over 10 years

I would argue that a cave man writting a book thousands of years ago laid the basics of a stable society down which allowed cooperation and social cohesiveness which in its turn allowed science to develope. The Jewish Talmudic scholarship practices also had an impact on study and the pulling of things apart to understand their core meanings which, when those learned skills turned to other areas the critical analysis they provided assisted scientific development.

Otherwise I agree with your proposition.

Golden! The rest was good too, but this is fuckin' gold. I'm also laughing my ass off because all of your other posts that I've read sound like the dictated grunts of a mindless rutting coprophiliac caveman, so to read your writing in non-caveman speak is both jarring and hilarious. But yes, I agreed with and liked the rest of your post as well.

Ummm... no. I'd be more apt to fly the banner of Mormon fundamentalism and claim my right to several wives.

Yes. I was also impressed with Interegnum's transition from grunting to elegant prose.

You think the true word of god was written by the Jews? 🤣 I deposit money at the bank frequently and when I see a pale, weak, and ugly dude with glasses, I don't see god. Just another person. If there was a god, why doesn't he speak to us himself? Why does he allow a bunch of fake profits to do all the talking for him while they kill each other over "the true religion..?" He could put an end to any doubt, or Sadistically keep watching from afar in which case he's an asshole and a piece of shit.

I think your sarcasm detector is on the fritz.
