It should be no surprise but like many of my generation the first Ghostbusters movie was a definitive part of our pop culture. Amazing flick, great characters, for the time fantastic special effects that still mostly hold up. All the subsequent movies have been various shades of crap, including Frozen Empire. I thought with Murray and Aykroyd having larger roles it might be able to capture a bit of the original magic but nope, its awful.

The special effects are alright but honestly nothing that special. The writing is brutal. Jason Reitman tried way too hard and only ended up ripping off his old man in the worst cliched ways possible. Dredged up all sorts of references from the first movie but everything was forced. And the characters. For starters there's too goddamned many of them and they're mostly hatable.

Kumail Nanjiani is a shite replacement for the Rick Moranis character from No 1

Emily Alyn Lind is OK but she should have shown her tits
James Acaster is a token nerdy foreigner who adds nothing
Bill Murray was good
Dan Aykroyd was tired and boring

It really is. Number 2 wasn't good but wasn't awful. Afterlife stunk and it got worse with this frozen lump of shit. And then there was that Paul Feig abortion, which as an aside has an IMDB score of 6.8. How in the fuck is that possible?

I can count on one hand the number of movies that have come out in the past year that I was genuinely excited to see and waited for them to stream so I could download. All the rest are woke, forced DEI smegma that I wouldn't watch for free.

Big screen is dead like disco. Small screen is where it's at.

Remember when a stupid movie could be great? Like Dumb and Dumber. It was so ridiculous but you were there for it. I miss the musical scores of 80s and 90s movies. The Goonies, The Princess Bride, fuck... The Labyrinth! It breaks my heart that the fun things I grew up with are basically forgotten. My daughter couldn't care less about my music or movie likings and it sucks. Kids are missing out on so much fun, it bums me out.
