However, ratings for the show have plummeted since the tragic death of Jack's beloved wife. Desperate to turn his fortunes around, on October 31st, 1977, Jack plans a Halloween special like no other--unaware he is about to unleash evil into the living rooms of America.”

SPOILERS! This video may help you with the ending because the ending is weird and also the thing about the movie that I’ve seen most criticized in reviews. SPOILERS!:

There is a short I saw maybe 5 years ago with the similar premise. it was streaming on YouTube 'Alter' I think, but it was some dudes making videos/maybe for a livestream? and they get some girl to pretend to be possessed by the devil only it is real and becomes a bloodbath. So I'm not sure this is film is terribly original. I love horror so I will surely watch it but it's not on the top of my list.

i vividly remember being terrified of horror movies in my childhood. back then, horror films were truly horrifying. nowadays, there are hardly any good horror movies. the horror industry faces significant challenges because everything has been done multiple times already. its really hard to make horror movies nowadays
It was hard to make a good movie, horror or not, today or decades ago. You can find mountains of crap horror b-movies from the 50s,60s,70s, and 80s. Not every movie was The Thing or The Exorcist.
There are many great horror films now, i can tell you of sone if you want . Also you must understand even early horror movies were copying literature and old fables and myths. Dracula being the most obvious but there are tons. Most stories had already been written by 1950 and transferred to movies (and plays but thats beside the point).

Have you watched this movie, why did you post this here?

Well i mean the whole, real possesion but characters are skeptical thing before. The Exorcist nobody believed Reagan was possessed even the priest at first. So you have a point there, but this movie is original dude. They do a 70s style late night show and also its not clear who really believes the girl is really possessed or not
