movies Has anyone seen the horrifying Marilyn Monroe pseudo-biopic “Blonde” (2022)? 🎞️💃🏼

I watched this months ago but it came to my mind recently and I am curious about what people might say the film. This film:

Blonde | Rotten Tomatoes

It has a very mixed and contentious review history as you can see from Rotten Tomatoes. People say it’s an explorative horror show from beginning to end. I agree with that, but I don’t necessarily dislike a film for doing that, especially if it is deliberate which the director of this film, Andrew Dominik, is. Also the actor plays Monroe is damn good, her name is Ana de Armas

It’s a, disgusting, vile, douche chill inducing, cringe fest. But what is shown is how Marilyn Monroe was treated. Thrown into the meat grinder of show business. Hollywood is shady today but back in her time it was a free for all of exploitation.

So I think I get what the film is doing and it seems a lot of the negative reviews don’t get that. They seem to think they are doing these horrifying scenes of sexual and other exploitation scenes just to be shocking. I don’t think that’s what’s going on in this movie.

I must say that the film is over the top though in it telling the story and not in a good way…

Anyway, have you guys seen this and if so do you agree with the reviews, the criticism, etc?

✌️&❤️

Is this the one where the two blokes pork her and we get to see the actresses tits ?
A lot of blokes pork her and act and do creepy shit towards her. Predatory creepy shit. It’s hard to watch all the time throughout but that doesn’t necessarily make it a bad movie or bad film worthy of a low rotten tomatoes score is my point.

never watched it, just got turned off about her fetus talking to her.
I forgot about that lol. That’s the least creepy thing to me lol.

I love films that evoke a visceral reaction. If I'm not moved emotionally or viscerally by a film, then it was usually a disappointment. Michael Haneke's films are difficult to watch in the way that you describe this Marilyn film to be (e.g., Funny Games (1997)). "Mysterious Skin" (2004) may rub a lot people like that too, but I absolutely love the film and the book for how in-your-face some of the content is. Gaspar Noe's "Irreversible" (2001) is definitely a difficult one to watch for one scene in particular, but I love that film as well. And his first film, "Seul Contre Tous" ("I Stand Alone") also has some viscerally brutal scenes. Too few films like those, sadly.

Never seen it but it'll be based on true events with artistic licence.
I have no doubt she was told "take these pills and you'll be fine dear" and she probably had to suck a lot of cocks to get where she was, I also have no doubt nearly half the film is just made up crap to keep your interest as well though.
In the past I’ve read shit loads of old Hollywood bio’s of movie stars Marilyn Bogart Cagney Wayne Lancaster Hepburn you name one I’ve probably read it each and everyone involved the casting couch in one way or another. Audrey Hepburn’s mother drove her to a directors office when she was 15 or 16 cant remember which and waited outside while he shagged her stupid.

It’s not a documentary so yea. It’s based on a novel of the same name. She sleeps with JFK in the movie, she really did. It’s made up but it’s not, what happens to her happened to a lot of young actresses in those early days of Hollywood.

It was a free for all yes. No protection for the young starlets at all. Pre second wave feminism it was was dark place and time. It still can be now, as Harvey Weinstein proves but not like early Hollywood.

She was a fucking whore. Completely talentless. In every sense of the word. I'll never understand why anyone would elevate or aspire to this cunt. Especially another woman...
she was thrown to the wolves and she had a horrible upbringing that I don’t see how any girl survives not being fucked up.

It is a piece of garbage film. Don't bother to see it. Waste of time. Marylyn Monroe aka Norma Jean deserves better.

I wanted to fire off a smartass comment, but instead I'll ask do you actually know anything about the woman at all? Because your comment is 100% inaccurate. I've read a good number of biographies about her and she was nothing like what most people think. She was another innocent victim of the predatory and powerful machine called Hollywood.
