What job did you always dream of having growing up?

i wanted to be either a stunt man. i used to throw myself down stairs and down hills. even jumping off my bicycle,as if it were a motorcycle.
as i got older, figured coroner was the way to go. got books on human anatomy, skeletal system and muscular system. watched videos and all that shit.
then figured more realistically, id be a pharmacist. but grades and money (mostly money. my grades werent all THAT bad) kept me out of furthering my schooling in the medical field.
so now i do what i do.

when i was a kid i wanted to be a train engineer,
now i'm engineering trains . . . on your ass

Early years - a volcanologist. Never really let that one go

Reality - scaffold construction for a dozen years, which led to project management.

College dreams - PE with engineering degree. Until i realized I was higher math retarded

College reality - BA English Lit, focused on 20th c dystopian fiction

Today - senior PM at aluminum extrusion company. We make the shit that holds glass in place on buildings.

Me, actually, would like to be an actress, but nowaday my dream was rejected by my relatives or friends and this makes me a liar, like a compulsive liar

How did you go from dreams of being a doctor to becoming a welfare recipient? No wonder you're in such a state of self-deprecation.
I’m not a welfare recipient and my parents are failures, didn’t get me help for my adhd and I started struggling in school and all my dreams slipped away. I’m having to take care of all this in recent years. I’m finally getting my adhd addressed with a stimulant, a med that really works in other words, and instead of working a crap job I can get a phd if I want to. I know I am smart enough if my issues are addressed and they increasingly are. That’s a long answer but an easy one. suck my balls.

Turn to onlyfans and defy their rejection
I’m on threads recently, I stopped using it last week after a three week binge. At least half the women on there have only fans accounts. It’s like only fans accounts and women who are left wing and are protesting Elon Musk’s Twitter

Do you prefer Huxleys or Orwells dystopia?

Only losers place blame on others for their own failures.
Im not placing blame on them for now or recent times. When I was 13 it was my parents job to get their child help. It’s that I didn’t which is why I didn’t do well starting in 6th grade and into high school, that and another reasons. That’s why I didn’t go to college at 18 and all that. This is just a fact and it’s an honest answer to the question. So nice try with that “I’m blaming others”. I blame no one for what I’ve done as an adult. No one except myself.

Although a visionary, Huxleys work still retained a modicum of hope, which I didn’t prefer. Orwell is ofc the definitive standard on which all dystopian lit could be compared.

Ray Bradbury, Philip K Dick, Margaret Atwood, all tremendous dystopian story tellers.

I have never read the later people. Actually we read a ray bradbury short story in English in high school.

What about Jack London, his somewhat prophetic the Iron Heel about a fascistic takeover of the USA. Jack London also did a science fiction short story. I read a collection of his stuff.
