Funniest thing is, they will still be on the hook to pay for not only the car but the tow as well. Most people even in this shit ass foreign country don't seem to realize that even if you damage your vehicle and still owe money on it, you will still owe the money even after the car is auctioned/sold. Had a friend of mine literally blow the engine on his chevy pick up and then told the bank to come get the truck. When they sold it, it was about 2500 dollars, he still owed 30k so he was on the hook for the remaining amount. He said later that it was the worst mistake he had made.
