She was under a Drs care and nothing suspicious on scene, so the autopsy is their call. Probably best for them. Let her RIP and let the family move on without publicizing her battle with opiates and the needle.

I would like to see her dead, naked body all cut up with the parts laid out like a “Buffeyet”. But that’s just me.

Maybe the family could be persuaded to do an Only Fans autopsy?

I include EtOH in the drug category as well because that's how it was taught to me too. Glad you're retired. I don't think she had children but I have yet to meet a heavy user who didn't have a kid that eventually had the same issues in their lifetime & many started even younger. That's scary with the zombie apocalypse drugs these days becoming more popular like Zylozine / Tranc. WTF? I vaguely recall a senior EMT, Et. Al. telling me that & going over exactly what happens to one's internal organs when you are hit in an collision & why you should ALWAYS get an ambulance but, they obviously don't know some of the other EMTs I know & forget the odds of where everyone is most likely to die... & it's in a hospital actually.
Thankfully, human livers regenerate. It's your only organ that can do that. I very much dislike that organ donation is a thing. It's creepy and vampire-like. The theys really need to bring that non-human ghost ECM tech to the masses & not just the elites of this planet. Why is that not a thing worldwide already?

One day I saw him standing in the corner swaying back and forth with a piece of pizza in his hand. I tried talking to him but he was unresponsive. His eyes were really yellow and I thought that he was going to die soon. He was dead the next day.

There's an alternate version of the classic The Scarlet Letter by Hawthorne where only super alcoholics are awarded a glittery red letter A to wear upon their manly chest rather than self-harm but, only if their eyes have yellowed and they fathered 1 or more bastard children in their drunkenness & they have received a summons to appear before a court for... paternity testing & child support. You probably never read it though because I never finished writing it as a kid. I was told it's super uncool to mock & judge guys like that. 😒
