animals Scientists have brought back Dire Wolves using ancient DNA, with the first born on October 1, 2024, over 10,000 years after their extinction

It's only a matter of time before Russians clone Vladimir Lenin.

Surely itd be only 50% dire wolf though they can't recreate it 100% as it'd be surrogated by a normal wolf I'd imagine or if using jurassic park logic have gaps in DNA filled in by wombats n sperms whales 😅 i don't get the need to bring back dead species why not bring back the ones man killed off first 🤷‍♂️

Their names are Romulus and Remus. Sister Khaleesi was born January 2025. One of the biggest concerns is the lack of a true wolf social structure
What's the science here ZeroK? Fossil DNA... is it a map to enable synthetically produced replica DNA to be placed at the right place on the genes or are all the proteins the genes are made from the same and basically an analogue of morse code, put two proteins and a space, 3 proteins and a space etc etc to build the plan as per the fossil.

I'm a bit confused... Is this actually real? Are these real Dire wolfs or are they bred to look like them but genetically just normal wolfs...

It's all bunk. As the scientists state,
"no ancient dire wolf DNA was actually spliced into the gray wolf's genome." The clones are genetically 100% grey wolves. They only tried to make the grey wolf look/act like a dire wolf by expressing genes that would potentially have been like a dire wolf. That's like if they genetically modified an elephant to be very hairy like a mamoth, it wouldn't be a mamoth, just an elephant that looked like one.

As @DokraOwl stated, they’re not actual dire wolves. They resemble dire wolves with the long white hair and muscular jaws

That's kind of what I thought. There is so much hype on the internet today that you need well honed critical thinking skills to sort the wheat from the chaff...

I’m sure China is trying to figure out how to get them so they can eat them…… ever since I saw the video of a Chinese man in a meat market saying white fur dogs have tender meat that’s all I think about when I see a white dog…..sick bastards.
Are you also a scientist along with all these other multiple ‘careers’ you claim to have. What were they again? Night club owner, pilot, sniper, bodyguard, NYSE broker. Did I miss any?

Can't clone or bring back the Thylacine from the 1900's so it's gotta be horseshit science. Our Tasmanian Tiger ain't coming back.
